Registry Cleaner Reviews - Choosing The Best Solution

I am a professional developer of registry cleaning and security software who knows how important a good registry cleaner is to keep a PC in top-notch condition. I also know what makes a good software package and how to avoid the bad ones.

Over the past twelve years working as a software developer, I have always found it surprising how few people take the time to ensure their computer keeps running smoothly. Clutter from unnecessary files, invalid directories, and other damaging data can cause serious damage to the computer registry and cause problems like: computer crashes, strange errors, and extreme slowdowns in performance. Most users purchase and install anti-virus software but they don't bother with a simple registry cleaner that keeps their machine healthy and ready-to-use. With so many registry cleaners on the market today let's take a moment to talk what it is they can and can't do for you.

First, a registry cleaner is NOT solution for virus protection or for AdWare/SpyWare scanning. These types of issues are different than registry and corrupted data problems. You should have these tools as well, but separate from your registry scanning software.

Second, NOT everyone will need a registry scanner. If you only turn your PC on once a month to play a game of solitaire, then you needn't worry, your computer will be fine. If you are like most of us though, and you use your PC more than once a week, it's a whole different story.

Third, a registry cleaner IS a comprehensive system scanner that will work to clean your windows registry and correct file corruption problems on your computer. Your registry cleaner works to correct issues and speed up that corrupted PC by at least 30%. Some uses have reported speed increases in the range of 60-70% and that isn't even accounting for the countless hours of frustration saved by ridding the PC of major errors. These advantages continue if you run the registry cleaner once a month.

Fourth, if you choose the wrong registry cleaning solution you can do your PC more harm than good! System registries are a complex topic and the software needs to designed by a team of professional developers who are experts in the field. It can hardly be called an automated solution if it hoops your computer entirely!

Along with the other developers on my team, we have evaluated the top four registry cleaners in the industry based on the following criteria:

  • Registry Repair - How well the registry cleaner corrected our issues. In this case we didn't just evaluate the software for how well it cleaned the system registry. We evaluated it for how well it corrected all of the following issues:
  • Correct Windows Errors
  • Stop Blue Screens
  • Stop Computer freezes
  • Increase Startup/Shutdown speed
  • Fix Installer Errors
  • Avoid Reboot Screens
  • Correct Program Crashes
  • Fix the Extreme Sluggishness
  • Fix Driver Errors
  • Delete Invalid Shortcuts
  • Correct DLL/MSI Errors
  • Fix Corrupt Registry Entries
  • Easy of Use - Software shouldn't require a degree to use it. A good registry cleaner should be simple enough that even the least technical user can use it.
  • Customer Support - Good software companies should provide support to their customers, and should respond quickly to support enquiries. They should also properly document their software to make it simple to find the information yourself.
  • Worked to Clean a Window PC - We used a corrupted desktop PC running Windows Vista (64-bit) Home edition for this test.
  • Worked to Clean a Laptop - The laptop we used in the tests was an extremely error-prone computer that ran Windows XP Professional.
  • Worked to Clean a Mac running Windows - Mac users also run Windows and to ensure that it would work we also tested on a Mac running Windows XP.
  • Overall Rating - Our rating overall when taking all of the above factors into account.
To ensure all of our tests were performed under the same conditions, after each test we restored the computer's their original problematic condition , and then moved on to the next tool.

Below I have shared the result of our testing for the top four registry cleaners. The clear winner from our testing was RegCure. But the other four products on the list were also solid solutions.

With any of these solutions you don't need to be a software developer to keep your computer running like it did when you bought it. The solutions offered below are simple, but I will give you my email address (info@constantreviews.com) in case you have any questions.

Once you get your Registry Cleaner running, please do let me know (email above) how well it worked for you. Also let me be the first to congratulate you and cleaning your registry without taking the time to earn a computer degree.

To keeping your computer error free,

Ethan Thomas (and team)

Malware Removers - Choosing a Malware Scanner

As a professional security consultant I know first hand how badly malware can affect a PC. The term malware refers to software that is intended to infiltrate or damage a computer without the user's knowledge or consent. Protecting your computers against malware requires choosing the right tools for the job, and without a malware remover you are putting yourself at risk!

With eight years in business as a computer consultant there is one thing that still surprises me almost every day. Too few computer-users work to protect themselves against malware (malicious software). The user keeps on booting up and using their PC without a second thought about the Adware, Trojans, Spyware, and viruses that running in the background. Their computer seems slower and is prone to errors, those ads keep popping up, and worse than that suddenly their credit card information is in the hands of a criminal.

What's even more surprising is that those same user's are often the ones who wonder how it happened when their PC is trashed, and they're suddenly in debt because of identity theft. Keeping the malware at bay is important, but with so many malware removers out their we need to first talk about what a good malware remover is and isn't.

First, a malware remover is NOT just a virus scanner. All viruses are malicious, but not all malware are viruses. To protect yourself well, you need both a virus scanner and a malware remover.

Second, a malware remover is NOT a tool to restore lost data that was caused by viruses or other problems. It will detect errors that are currently on the PC, but it can't restore the data you lost because you left that virus on your computer for too long.

Third, a malware remover IS a complete scanning tool for that will rid your computer of most types of malicious software. It works to remove AdWare, Spyware, Trojans, worms, and other malware that commonly infect today's computers.

Fourth, if you don't take the time to choose the best tool for the job it isn't just your computer data that is at risk. You are also risking losing your personal data to thieves, possibly losing control of your computer to hackers, and in some cases damaging your computer to the point where it is useless. The right malware scanner can work to protect you against all of that and more.

To help you choose the right tools for the job, a few of my colleagues and I took the time to evaluate the five best malware removers on the market. We rated them based on the following criteria.

  • Worked to remove the simplest types of malware (basic Adware, tracking cookies, etc).
  • Removed complex malware including Spyware, worms, trojans, and others.
  • Identified and corrected errors caused by malware that had been running on the PC
  • Easy enough to use that even the least-technical user would be able to run a scan
  • Powerful enough to allow flexibility for power-users.
  • Malware definitions are updated on a regular basis
  • Worked to protect our laptop running Windows Vista
  • Worked to protect our desktop computer running Windows XP
  • Worked to protect our Mac that had Windows installed
  • Provided timely support when we asked questions of the company
  • Increased system speed on the most infected system
  • Overall rating based on all of the above factors
To ensure that our evaluations were fair, we chose the most infected systems we could find to test with, and after each test we restored those computers to their previously infected state. Below I have shared the results of our testing for the top five malware removers on the market.

The software tools we have listed are the simplest and most effective malware removers on the market. If you do need help though, please don't hesitate to email me (info@constantreviews.com) and I will answer any questions you may have.

Also, please do take the time to let me know (use the email above), once you have protected your PC, and share with me your own thoughts on our top five malware scanners.

Learn Spanish Now - Choose The Best Learning Package

I am a Spanish translator who also works part-time teaching adults the language of love. I know first hand how hard it can be for the grown mind to learn a new language. Choosing the right learning package is always the best way to get a good start when trying to learn Spanish, and I know what separates the good from the bad with learning material.

As a Spanish translator/teacher, one question I am often asked is what learning package is the best for adults or teens wishing to learn Spanish from home. When you look at the wide range of learning products out there it becomes clear that not only is it hard to choose, but that there is much variety in the way materials are taught. Choosing the best learning package is the most important step to getting started. With so many Spanish learning courses out there, let's first cover what these packages are and are not.

First, a digital learning package is NOT the only thing you need to master Spanish. You also need to take the time to read Spanish, to speak to other Spanish-speaking individuals, and make learning and speaking Spanish a part of your daily life. I can't stress how much this will speed up your learning process.

Second, NOT everyone needs a Spanish learning package. In fact, if you aren't dedicated to learning the language you likely won't, and the learning material will be a waste of money. Learning Spanish isn't hard if you apply yourself, but you need to make the decision right now that you are going to spend time each day learning.

Third, a Spanish learning package IS the simplest way to get started with your learning. It will cost less, and take less time, than taking beginners lessons and it allows you to learn at home at your own pace. The best learning packages can take you right from beginner to advanced Spanish.

Fourth, if don't take the time to choose the right learning package your will only make learning Spanish harder. This is actually the number one reason people don't follow through with their plan to master the language - too many of the tools out there are really just a waste of money.

If you've been thinking of learning Spanish then you'll be please to know that, along with some of my students, I have taken the time to evaluate the top five Spanish learning packages available today. I chose the top programs in the industry and then used those programs with adult learners to gauge how well they worked. I based my evaluations on the following criteria.

  • Level of Spanish Learning - A good Spanish program should cover everything right from beginning levels up to having conversations with native Spanish speakers.
  • Amount of Content - The amount of learning material included in the package
  • Teaching Techniques - Many people retain information better when taught with different methods. A good Spanish program should use a variety of methods for aiding with teaching/retention.
  • Follow Up Material - Beyond the basic course is there more material available to take your learning further? The best courses should allow you to go further.
  • Additional Content (Fun Factor) - A good learning package should be fun to use. The best programs I evaluated included games that increased retention and made learning fun.
  • Basic Language Skills - Does the program give enough content (and teach it fast enough) that the learner could grasp a basic conversation after using the program for a while.
  • Reading/Writing Skills - Along with speaking does the program teach language/grammar for reading and writing Spanish?

With our evaluations we actually took two steps. First I evaluated the programs as a teacher. I looked that them from the point of view of - would they be able to teach students what I would teach. The next step I took was to actually bring the programs into my adult learning classes. I had my adult students use the programs from home for a period of time and then gave a basic test to see what they had learned and retained.

The programs that I have listed here are the top five Spanish learning programs from our evaluations. The clear winner was Rocket Spanish, but the others on the list didn't do to badly. If you need help with any of this, please don't hesitate to email me (info@constantreviews.com), and I will do everything I can to aid you on your road to learning Spanish.

Once you do start your learning program please contact me (email above) and let me know. I love to hear from those who are working to learn my favorite language.

Learn French Now - Choose The Best Learning Package

As a French teacher, one question I am often asked is what learning package is the best for adults or teens wishing to learn French from home. Long ago I set out to find the answer to this question, and one thing really surprised me when I did. There are too many French learning packages out there that simply aren't good enough.

When you look at the tools available on the web, you'll find software, books, flash-card programs, and more. Sorting through them all is difficult, and choosing one can be even more intimidating. Before we get to my thoughts on any French programs let's first talk about what a French learning package is and isn't.

First, a digital learning package is NOT the only thing you need to master French. You also need to take the time to read French publications, to speak to French-speaking individuals, and to make learning (and speaking) French a part of your daily life. I can't stress how important this is to speed up the learning process.

Second, NOT everyone needs a French learning package. In fact, if you aren't dedicated to learning the language you likely won't learn anyway. Learning French isn't hard if you apply yourself, but you need to make the decision right now that you are going to spend some time each day learning.

Third, a French learning program, IS the simplest way to get started with the language. It will also cost much less (and take less time) than taking beginners lessons from a community college. The best learning packages can take you right from beginner to advanced French.

Fourth, if don't take the time to choose the right learning package you will only make learning French harder. This is actually the number one reason people don't follow through with their plan to master the language. Too many of the tools out there are really just a waste of money.
